Is it true that the TV tuner doesn't work with Vista Business? It would seems that it works only with Home Premiun and Ultimate.

I'm really curious about the TV Tuner too, so little information is known about it. I'm curious about XP. It might work with GBPVR, or some other software

Drivers are not limited to Vista Business, so it should work fine and the software to.
Im unable to test this but then again I would if I had Vista Business.

My vendor (RJTECH) told me that, I find that hard to believe but I'm not going to spend $125 just to find out, unless you guys share the expenses with me :D :D :D

I know that the HEL-80 (Sager NP2080), and the JFL92 (Sager NP2092) have the same built-in TV Tuner. There are the XP drivers for the HEL-80 TV Tuner : http://64.208.175.44/pages/notebooks/download.cfm?ProductType=2080 . So the TV tuner of the JFL92 should in theory work on XP.

For the vista business people, if there are drivers for the TV tuner, there are many softwares that can use it probably. You can use GBPVR, which support both DVB and Analog. Other softwares might work... I'm not sure which though

Vista Business does not have Media Center, so you're going to have to find a third-party software to play from the TV tuner.

XP and Vista Business are two different OS so if works in one it doesn't mean that automatically it will work in the other one.

Another concern: We say that the TV tuner supports analog TV, but here in the US we are flushing analog TV I think by next year, so I would be paying too much for a card that it will have one functionality out of service

The movement to digital only is only for over-the-air signals.

Exactly, so the antenna input to receive analog TV will be of no use, right?

Yes, for over-the-air signals only. You can still get analog cable or whatnot.

Yes, in principle, all signals on the air or coax are analog, but the modulating signal and processing could be digital. So, the s-video, s-video+coax adapter and the air signal will be able to get digital services carried by analog signals.

But the air analog-analog service, which is free, will fadeout so if my intention was to get that type of service, then no use for my minicard.

The government will be giving I think $40 to buy an adapter so you can continue watching analog TV through your antenna while receiving analog-digital TV on your analog TVs at home.

But, now with the new regulations, I guess you will have to subscribe to DBT. But I'm not very sure about this, do we pay for DBT?

I have Vista Business on my HEL80 and I can tell you it is working in some way. My problem that has been bugging me ever since I switched from XP to Vista is that I couldn't find a program to get it to work properly. I am presently using K!TV but it is quite unstable, hasn't got a lot of features and doesn't support digital TV. But I'll check out GBPVR to see if the Vista Biz/TV-Card combo is working as soon as I have time (should be within the next 6/7 days, maybe tonight or tomorrow already)

    regards

Apparently Vista business doesn't have media center, but I guess if you get another application it should work, but it would not vista enabling it, it would be your 3rd application vendor.

    1. Vista Business does not have the codecs to support the TV Tuner.
    2. The over the air antenna does not work well at all in the US even now. For the best performance you would have to use your coaxial cable connectivity in the US.

That's crazy, if I have to connect with a coax, I might as well watch TV on the big screen in my family room :D :D

My TV-Tuner is delivered with the prog: LifeView.
With this prog the driver and codecs are installed.
Still not able to test this with Vista Business, but I think when it's delivered with a complete software bundle is should work.

Let me know when you try it with Vista business, many are saying that the TV tuner doesn't work with it.

I used BlazeDTV 2.5 software that came with an USB TV tuner and it works with the AOpen mini card tuner in my IFL 90. I think you can buy the software from their website. It also works with Media Center in Vista Ultimate.

Jack_Silent, Jernkar: Buddies, I need help from you.
I brought a DVB-S satellite box by ebay. In the package includes a mini disc to install BlazeDTV 2.5, but doesnt have the serial, keygen or crack, so, I cant use it.
I have tried to download from internet but I havent find a website with the software + crack/keygen/serial of 2.5.
I downloaded BlazeDTV 2.5a but I just can use it for 14 days.
Later I downloaded BlazeDTV 3.5 + serial and installed it. It scanned 86 channels, they are added in the left panel, but I clic on each of them but they dont play the image, all dark, if no signal, but I see the signal quality and strenght is high.
Even I dont know if Blaze uses Pluggins, (Emunation or Vplug), I dont know how to install the pluggins if it uses. I guess it uses, because if DVB Dream and My Theatre uses it, Blaze should too.
Please buddies, help me out, I dont know what to do, I have tried everything I know, I know how to work with My Theathre and DVB Dream, but I'm lost with Blaze, and the card I brought just works with Blaze.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks

You can try to install Vista Codec pack, just google for the correct link, then download and install see if this will solve the issue.

Contact blazevideo.com support, they might be able to help you. You will probably end up having to buy a new key code from them.

    Can anybody help me, please??
I purchased a DVB-S card which comes with Blaze DTV 2.5.
The rest of similar softwares, as DVB Dream, My Theatre, etc, uses plugins that have to be changed around weekly. So, I guess Blaze should use too, because if Blaze doesnt use, everybody would use Blaze to avoid the plugins change and nobody uses My Theatre and DVB Dream, that are widely used.
Please, can you explain me if Blaze uses plugins?? how to install it, and if it doenst uses pluggins what I have to do to make Blaze work, because it scanned a lot of channels but I dont get to see at all, just a free channel.
With the Vision Plus, Twin Han, I watch a lot of channels of Echostar 8-10, and I want to see the same channels with this new card, but it just accept Blaze as software, not MyTheatre or DVBDream.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks very much.
    Greetings

They sell the serial numbers on their website.
