Effective August 1, 2005 all telephone tech support will be directed to Mexico. There will not be a technical support center in the United States. This is to try and help lower averatecs cost for technical support. Its crappy that they are cutting the corner that most people like, Talking to someone who speaks english fluent. But thats the corporate world for you.

Make sure you let your voice be heard by averatec

Their Tech Support isnt bad. Its pretty good, however they are very limited because corporate will not allow the techs to set up part RMA's because it caused too many issue with people voiding their warranties. and in tech supports words, if you cant do it for 1, you cant do it for anyone.(David badge#74052). You cant blame the tech support for things they cant control. plus if you yell at the techs I wouldnt be supprised if they hung up on ya. Corporate will not also allow techs to call the repair facility to check on updates. Im sure if it were that easy they would do it all the time. All they can do is send up escalations which typically geta 24-48 hr response time.
