Using a mic just doesn't work on my 6615WD. I get this horrible hum, could be a 50hz hum not sure, that ruins any attempt to record anything. What should I do? What would be the best replacement sound card to get?

You can get USB microphones. If your soundcard is fine but mic quality is bad I'd recommend one of them.

I err, already kind of have a E70 Stage Mic... it'd be a bit bad to replace that with a no doubt not very good quality desktop mic.
