    Hi!
I took the SLOT-in DVD burner for my 6324w.

    1. It's a Samsung right? Doesn't say Samsung in the device manager
    2. Is there any firmware updates for it?
    3. Can it take 8cm mini CD/DVD?

    Thanks,

    CreX

Slot loads that I know of cannot take mini CD/DVD. Most of them that are in the market cannot, and I wouldn't try my luck. TSSTCorp (assuming yours is a TSSTCorp) is a joint venture between Toshiba and Samsung, IIRC. For firmware updates, do a google search or something. Usually firmware updated for CD/DVD burners don't do much; but then again read the changelog before you do anything.

It is a joint venture samsung/toshiba slot-in drive

Edit: The 8cm disks will not work in the slot in drive

If you want 8cm support in slot in then your will need to get the SE-
T084L (also Toshiba-Samsung) which is only available as an external unit. You then pull it apart and you will have a compatible bare slot-in burner which reads and writes 8cm discs and has Lightscribe. However, last time I looked, this burner was hard to find.
