So my friend finally put an OS on my computer for me and I was getting all my drivers installed, finally got my computer good to go. I get on the internet and start messing around. In the first 20 seconds of typing I realize there is something wrong...
Now they keyboard flexing I can deal with. But trying to type on my HEL80 is almost impossible. Its like there are keys stuck or something. My R,T,4, and 5 keys are espescially bad. I will be trying to type something that uses an R and it simply wont respond when I get to it. So I will repeatedly hit the "r" key when it does respond it usually goes qer or qrue or a whole bunch of letters, usually involving the top row. Often when I am trying to type anywhere on the left side of the keyboard capslock will come on. When I try to type T's a new tab will open. I was attempting to type this from my laptop but I had only gotten the first sentence and it took me like 3 minutes. Its very frustrating seeing as how this is my first laptop and I just spent $1250. I know I could just buy an external keyboard, but it would be so unpractical to carry that round when im trying to study at the library and stuff... There is clearly something wrong with my keyboard right?! I ordered my computer from agearnotebooks.com I will give them a call on monday because I will likely be sending it back. Anyone have any suggestions about something I may be overlooking or something I can do to fix it? Anyone else experience this problem.

Yes, it does sound like your keyboard has several dead keys. I would get it replaced or have them send out a keyboaard to replace it.

Yes there is definately something wrong with your keyboard, but whatever it is I am sure it can be fixed. Did you buy it barebones and put it together yourself, or did they assemble it for you?

Just give agear a call and they should take care of you...not to worry :)

As others said, don't worry. Yes, the latest Compals are known to have quite a bit of flex (which can be fixed, by the way), but what you describe is a more serious problem that must be addressed and solved by your vendor. Do call them and good luck!
