    Jeez, 1280*800 matte screen for a 15,4" laptop with a 9600m GT 512Mb DDR3 GFX?
That's a sick low resolution for such a high grade gaming notebook...
Sure, you will have high FPS but what about details???

    They ought to be offering 1440 x 900. The difference between 1280 x 800 and 1680 x 1050 is too big.

The sales guys do seem to be pretty quick off the mark -- but the support guys, not so much. Since contacting them a week ago I have only had the automated response:

    Yes, well.

    Just have to say that

    Intel C2 DUO P8400 2,26GHz 1066MHz 3MB-25Watts
    4 GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC6400 800MHZ
    320Gt 5400rpm SATA
    Zepto Zpro2 N-Standard (NBG)
    DVD-RW / CD-RW SATA
    Keyboard Orion/Nox SE BLACK
    Nox A15 WXGA + Geforce 9600M
    6 Cell Nox/Orion
Microsoft® Windows® Vista Home Premium- UK 64bit w. free Office trial

goes for 1.268,76 € in Finland, wich is a kinda expencive country (comparing with other zepto.com prices) and that laptop is like insane! :D

and if I would buy one, I could get it cheaper when leaving out the hdd (have a pretty new one so no point getting yet a new one)

btw, for officials, do you give a discount if you return your current zepto (for spare parts)? If you do I might actually get a nox :O

    With a WXGA or a WXSGA+ screen ;-)

    EDIT:
In the Netherlands you pay for the same config:
    WXGA-screen: 1155,-
    WSXGA+ screen: 1235,-

    EDIT II:
And insane, insane... Go at least for a 7200rpm'er instead of a 5400'er (and a better proc (A) )

Zepto Australia have posted the datasheet for the nox here:

    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/866796.html

The dimension was abit different then the last source said
    360mm(W) x 257mm(D) x 34mm(H)

Zepto Australia also claimed that the datasheet was up on a webpage with more pictures and so, but atleast I can't find them.

Starts shipping 23th of july according to my latest offical zepto response

    Hi mats1

They probably haven't got the datasheets loaded yet. They are flat out getting all the new stuff up on all the websites.

But, the pictures are there. If you go to the big picture of the Nox you will see a little square in the top right corner. Click on that and it opens another set of images.

Just as I though. Couldn't see a reason why they should do that anyways :)

I was about to buy a NOX or Mythos until I found out they dont support DDR3 ram. :( Really dissapointed, that notebook was the perfect one for me until I found out that bad news...

Well the only big difference right now between DDR2 and DDR3 RAM is that DDR3 is hellish expensive. I wouldn't stop buying it just because of that. One of the things that's keeping the price down on the Nox/Mythos is the low low RAM prices.

Why should they fix 3 USB-ports on a newer model =s

Do you have a direct datasheet link for me please!?

Is that a full list of ports? No standard monitor port?

Only 3 USB and no Firewire is not impressive for a 15.4" chassis, particularly since there is no eSATA.

In the absence of a User Guide for the Nox, perhaps Zepto can give us a photo of each of the 4 sides of the Nox. Then we can see what is there.

ain't that taken from the zeptoshop.nl? who are just a reseller of zepto? the offical sites have uploaded the datasheet on their pages with the one I posted.. a pity that they removed the firewire and also removed 1 usb slot

"There's an Expresscard/34 slot on the machine right above the card reader in the left hand side of the machine.

The choice to remove the Firewire was a hard one, but looking at the new devices coming out for DV-editing most of them are USB. Firewire seems to be a standard that is on it's way out slowly, which is why we've chosen not to include it. We know that music editors still use firewire, but we had to make a choice unfortunately that had support for what the majority of people need in their machines."

taken from a offical zepto represent from an australian forum

Ahhh thanks! FireWire doesn't matter to me,
but it's kinda strange that they have removed it...

    And three USB-ports.. pff...
1 for an external mouse (yeahyeah no BlueTooth, I have a MX Revolution)
    1 for an external harddrive
    1 for? iPods / Zunes/ mp3players/ digital camera's/ cardreaders...

It is still enough for me but it's a pity imho

XXODD has pronounced their XNI 860tu-GT series...

    That's sick as hell.... A 15,4" notebook with a 9800GT...
I love Zepto, I love Zepto.. but this XXODD... wholy hell

EDIT: And with DDR3 RAM, and with FireWire, and with eSata, and with DVI

For 2300,- euro's you will get the extreme version:
    T9600 proc, 4GB 1066MHz RAM, 320GB 7200rpm HDD, Blu-ray reader/ writer, 1680x1050 screen, GO9800 GT

For 2300,- euro's you will get also the Zepto Nox / Mythos extreme version:
    T9600 proc, 8GB 800MHz RAM, 320GB 7200rpm HDD, Blu-ray reader/ writer, 1680x1050 screen, GO9600 GT

But okay okay, there is coming a newer 15,4" model of Zepto with hardware specs... Oewlalalalallaaaaa

Wow never knew of XXODD. I might get it euro 1575 for a 15.4 with 9800M GTX is a tempting deal.

a GT! Not a GTX! (That will come also in their 15,4" newer models)

I haven't got a XXODD myself, but some friends of my have...
And the service has to be good! I don't know if they ship in Europe,
their garanty has to be good (2 year standard carry-in) and their prices are competitive =)

(Do you know the brand Clevo, I think they are the same, so take a look there)

I will ask if a friend of me could post his XXODD experiences here =)

EDIT: You will get a 8 cell battery as standard..

And it's bigger and heavier than the Zepto Nox / Mythos:
    364mm (B) x 269,50mm (D) x 29mm tot 41mm (H) with a weight of 3,2kg

    That's correct, they're rebranded Clevo's.

About the service: the only I can do is to appreciate the service of XXODD.

Okay, they're expensive but what you expect for the money is also what you get. Reply'ing on e-mails, no b*ll****talking at the phone.

XXODD is a brand with a good service reputation.

Both the XXODD's and the Hydra's from Zepto are rebranded Clevos. The 15,4" Hydra from zepto is probably the same as the one XXODD sell.

However, Nox and Mythos are designed by Zepto.

I'm gonna test the Nox / Mythos and I think I will love it in an instant...

And the XXODD specs are better (for a higher price)
And there are coming new 14,1" and 15,4" Zepto's... wait wait wait =)

shouldnt they run Montevina? If they do they should support DDR3. Maby ZeptoUSA meant that they wont sell it in the US with DDR3

    Zeptoshop.nl itself

    EDIT: I think it's strange...
First he said 'DDR3 memory is too expensive'
Later on he says that the Nox / Mythos won't support DDR3 memory...

The Nox / Mythos supports the Montevina platform so why it won't work with DDR3 memory..

I think he meant that ZeptoUS wont support DDR3 memory for the laptops (=not selling em), not that the actual notebook doesnt support DDR3
