Thats right, the heat issue is back. Ive only just really installed some games on my laptop due to my university work. Over the last two weeks ive had the same problems i used to get

    if anyone remembers the thread:

    and my follow up

Well this certainly sucks. This is supposed to be a gaming laptop yet it over heats everytime i play for more than 30 minutes

Ive had it less than 5 months

The worst thing is, i'll need to get it sent in and i really cant afford to be without a computer during my university course (computer science). Last time it was away for a month :(

Anyone had their laptop sent away and got a permanent replacement or atleast a replacement while yours got fixed? I don't want this thing if its always going to break!

You could try getting a laptop cooler that should drop the temps around 10 - 15c - I have heard the Core Duo normally run warm under load, and with running a 7200 rpm HD that will heat things up a little bit.

hmm i could do that but why should I. If i buy a gaming laptop and play games I would expect it to have a sufficient cooling system. I paid over £900 for something that doesnt do the job properly :( I play games for 30 minutes and the laptop just switches off and wont start back up again for a good 20 seconds.

Have you tried cleaning out the fan. It might be a bit clogged up with dust etc.

I've been told by Zepto that you can shoot compressed air into the vent to clean the fan. This should only be done a couple of times, however, and the unit will need to be sent in to Zepto for a thorough cleaning after that.

I rang zepto support the day before last to tell them about the problem and the fact that i really cant do without a laptop during my semester.

Unfortunely the guy that answered couldnt really help so they went in search of someone that could, so they said they'd ring back in a day. Which they did (thank good they got rid of NUSystems!). As expected really they cant send a replacement while mine is away.

So im in abit of a pickle, send it away and not get it back for a month and probably fail my course! or wait until the end of my semester without gaming and hope my warranty doesnt run out.

Ok well, I understand why my laptop just turned off now...

45 minutes of FEAR and there she blows....
My vent should be clean enough, I regularly blow in the fan duct to get rid of excess dust...

Does anyone know if those notebook coolers actually help ? (I mean that if it gives me 10 more mins of game time before shutting down.... you know the rest)
