    I'm thinking about getting a Zepto (either a 6625WD or a 6624W) and have a couple questions.

The main thing stopping me from going ahead and buying one is the fact that I live in the UK and if anything goes wrong the computer has to be shipped back to Denmark. My computer is kind of essential so the less time it has to be away the better, so my question is, how reliable are Zepto computers and what's people's experience of how quickly things get repaired when they do go wrong?

Where is the air intake for both models? My computer is liable to be used in bed a lot (i.e. on top of a duvet), so I'm worried that this will impede the airflow. Will I have to invest in a laptop tray/cooler or something?

I want to use XP at first and at a later date have a dualboot setup with Windows Vista. From a technical standpoint, is there any problem with doing things this way, or would I be better having Vista installed by Zepto when I get the computer and then adding XP myself?

Will having XP on the machine cause any problems with Turbo Memory (I know it can't use Turbo Memory, but like I say, I hope to install Vista later), or would it be better not to get this option?

How reliable are the power supplies? I know some notebook power supplies have a habit of failing after some usage, so is it worth buying a spare?

Does the 12 cell battery increase the size of each model (i.e. does it stick out of the back). If so, by how much?

Thanks in advance for any answers you can give me. :)

well, seeing as having them based in the UK would still mean overnight courier, there isn't any difference to having them based over in Denmark, in terms of speed etc

6625WD has air-intake underneath, as far as I can see. exhaust on left, as you prob know. Would expect duvet to be a problem, but am not a techie.

IIRC, always install XP before Vista - that's what I've heard.

Well we are not actually based in the UK at the moment.

The intake is under the machine on both models and on both models the air is blown out on the left side. It is in no situation adviced to use the laptops we sell in a bed as they generate a lot of heat and if used in a bed on a duvet it will not be able to get rid of the heat.

When needing to dual boot its best to install XP first and then install Vista on a free partition afterwards.

There is no problem having XP on a machine with Turbo Memory. The device will just be in the Device Manager as a PCI Caching device.

The powersupplies are pretty reliable, but of course we can't garantee that it will last forever and not break down.

The 12-cell batteries are twice the physical size of the standard 6-cell. This means the 12-cell battery sticks about 5 cm out on the back of the machine.

Zepto has had problems turning round repairs as quickly as anyone would like. This is discussed in threads here, here and here. However, as you will learn from those threads, Zepto is improving the servicing arrangements.

Most notebooks, but particularly those with powerful GPUs, have some bottom air inlets so I would recommend a tray for two reasons: Ensure the airflow is not impeded but also reduce the risk of fluff and dust being sucked into the computer, which will progressively clog the cooling system.

Zepto's PSUs have a very competitive price so a second one would be a good investment, particularly if you are regularly moving the notebook between two locations.

the 6625wds airintake is trough the keyboard, as 6624w. I feel that this is better than having it underneath, exept that it cant take any spilling on the keyboard. The holes beneath it is just passive heatholes.
The 6625wd is awsome for gaming, I have the zepto video drivers (because problems with the driver compatibility with Battlefield 2), play on medium settings and have a fps of 30 (when I had 163.xx from laptopvideo.com i had fps at about 60 but frequent drivercrashes). The screen (UltraCrisp) is great, has a good sharpness, perfect sizes for young eyes (fonts eg).

    here

As a proud owner of a 6625wd, I can say that I havent even been in contact with zepto, It has been very stable, exept that the built-in camera is not working properly, It causes bluescreen after about 5mins after enabling it

Hi, I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone - I really appreciate the time and trouble you took in answering my questions. :) I've more or less made my mind up now, so hopefully I should be the proud owner of a baby Zepto soon. ;)

    Hi mate

I got mine this weekend and love it.

The touchpad could be alittle better but the rest is amazing. The screen and power of the system will blow you away
