I would like to know if theres a chance to disable the touchpad, since I use a wireless mouse, swapping the FN and CTRL keys and overclocking the CPU, either by a software or unlocking the bIOS, any response would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

You can disable the touchpad in Device Manager, but it will enable again each time you reboot.
You cannot switch the Ctrl and Fn keys.
You cannot overclock the CPU, only the GPU -
-
As long as it has a keycode, you can re-map the key to whatever you want. When my laptop gets in, I'll try to remember to test for a keycode. If it does indeed have it, I'll write some sort of tiny background application to switch the keys since enough people have asked about it. -
Is there any possibility for the touchopad to switch off everytime I connect an external mouse? My friend who has an Asus has this possibility, but I obviously can't do it, at least not in mouse setup. Oh, btw, I have Compal HGL 30.

you can switch the fn and ctrl keys in linux by modifying the xmodmap key set. there are some tutorials on ubuntuforums.org for doing that.
-
....Currently, there is no way to change FN and Ctrl (I wanted to do that for earlier...) since the FN key only changes the keycode of the letter you're pressing after FN. FN does not have it's own keycode.
You may disable the touchpad when you're typing...(although I do not use it while using the touchpad becuause the auto re-enabling is delayed. So if you type something and quickly want to use the touchpad, you'll have to wait...)
Overclocking the CPU is not possible (with stock bios at least, and you won't get any high in frequency before you can fry sausages on it...) Overclocking the GPU works though... -
Question though... if the key doesn't contain a keycode... how on earth does linux remapping assign it a value? -
-
All the little things I have to figure out once my notebook arrives! I just hope somoene at home hears the fedex truck today so it doesn't drive away with my notebook for another day of waiting! -
I apologyze for this late response;
Here's my current situation:
a) Touchpad: Disabled, new option from Elantech newest driver.
b) Overclocking: Possible, using Notebook Hardware Control
c) FN <-> Ctrl swapping: unchanged, most likely impossible in Windows, theres a chance on UNIX based systems or a modding change. -
If that make any of you feel better it was impossible for me to use XEV with xmodmap to remap the Ctrl and Fucntions key. The function key outputs no keycode... so it is indeed impossible except if you wanna hack into your bios lol...

Under what heading can I find my Elantech TouchPad in Device Manager? Can't find it anywhere.
Also, to Richardeep, what version of the Elantech driver are you using now? -

Logitech-compatible Mouse PS/2. No reference at all to touchpad, elantech, or KTP... -
hmm. Uninstalled KTP, then reinstalled from Driver Cd. There now. Weird. Thanks for help.

Sounds like you haven't loaded the Elantech touchpad drivers from your drivers CD.
What model do you have? -
Windows refers the touchpad as Logitech PS/2, you can find the latests drivers here http://www.elantech.com.tw/english/en_download.html, if all Hel80 users request Compal to make CTRL and FN swapping available through the BIOS there might be a chance to make the perfect laptop. And by the way, the touchpad is only disabled through Elantech application (Control Panel -> Mouse), so when you are on log on screen, the touchpad will still be active.
