Hi All,
I have a 6224, and have felt for a long time that the touchpad is too 'jerky'. Its like it misses a lot of the input and feels way too sensitive.
Strangely, this is fixed (briefly) when I reinstall the touchpad driver. However, the jerky movement will return after a while or a restart.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks
Will

make shure none of your fingers are on the edge of the touchpad. Since it all is one piece of plastic it can record small touches even if your not actually touching the pad

Possibly related?
On occasion I get random up and down movements of the cursor.
It goes away by touching the touchpad. I do have a wireless
trackball which might be the cause of the problem, but thought
I'd throw this in here in case this is a more common issue. -
I would suggest that you disable the pad if you dont use it. I had it like that for a while, until I started to need the pad again.

Yeah I go back and forth with disabling, depending where the computer's being used

Is there any option of having it like when you have mous plugged in its disabled and when not its enabled?

It's a pretty easy switch to do yourself - stop being lazy! FN + F6 (or whatever it is)

I've not had any erratic behaviour from my 6024W's touchpad.
Are you using the latest available driver from Synaptics? I turn off some of the tapping features. You may also want to adjust the palmcheck sensitivity.
John -
yep palmcheck sensitivity is what sorted my problems out, before i was having the same problems as you guys

and I cant find any blue text or icons that can be grouped together with the touchpad -

Oh, great
but one question, why is there a lock as the icon?? Ok maby it stands for locking the touchpad, BUT, I would never have figured that out, i tought it was for locking the computer -
yea lot of the icons are weird, i figured them out by pressing them and seeing what i get
fn +
f1 gets your mousepad locked/unlocked
f2 gets your bluetooth on and off
f3 gets your sound on and off
f4 gets your screen switched if your using another display
f5 gets your laptop to go to sleep
f6 gets your brightness down
f7 gets your brightness up -
I guessed right for the 6224 though - F6
