    Hi,

I have a Compal HEL80 and I live in North America. What do I need if I'm travelling to Europe and need to use my laptop?

    Thanks,
    S123

check ur power adapter - if it says input = 100 (or above) to 220 (or above) then all u need is adapter for the power plug to the wall socket

wifi readiness is a plus, since there r so hotspots almost everywhere

    have fun in europe

    cheers ...

Hotspot availability depends largely on which country you're going to, trust me, I live here.

Thanks! Power adapter seems fine, I will go get a wall socket.

I'm going to Brussels, don't know about the hotspots over there, hopefully there are a few of them.

You can find Telenet Hotspots right here. Gemeente = county so should be "Brussel"

There are a lot of unsecured wifi networks ready to be used :D
For Telenet you have to pay if I'm not mistaken.

I used a plug adapter with my laptop when I went over to England, because it took 110-240V in. Just a data point for you ;) You don't need a voltage stepper or anything, just the plug adapter(s).
