Hi there,
I am in Germany and need a new notebook. I am interested in the Tuxedo Polaris 15" and ordered that one just now. However because of the shortage of AMD chips this is most likely not to arrive this year. Additionally they only sell the Polaris with ISO keyboards and I would prefer ANSI. Also I would not use Tuxedo's distro but install Fedora on it.
So I was looking into buying the Elutronics RP-15 variant from the US. Luckily they add shipping and taxes automatically for you and it comes out as the same price as the Tuxedo AND with an ANSI keyboard. And they say they can ship before Christmas (to the US) which COULD make it to me this year still.
Now I am pretty sure that I can install Linux on the Eluktronics, but I would like to use Tuxedos Command center, which allows you to change the performance profiles which you can only change in the BIOS directly. And you can also change the keyboard color, etc.
Now I am pretty sure that the TCC needs Tuxedos BIOS because it is writing/reading registers. The userland program is available as open source software.
So I was wondering if you guys think I can install Tuxedo's BIOS on the Eluktroniks sister notebook. After all they should be the same Tongfang device.
Appreciate any help!

I've installed TCC on an XMG Core 15 AMD laptop and it works without the Tuxedo specific bios.
