I noticed at XoticPC.com that they have the IFL90 notebook, but it comes in two different flavors.

One is the Force 3297 Compal IFL90 and the other is the Xotic/Sager NP2090 (Compal IFL90). However, when I spec each notebook out with the same exact components, the Force 3297 version is much more expensive that the Sager/Xotic model. So what gives? What's the reason for the huge price difference between the two if they are basically the same notebook?

Off-hand, I'd say one reason is that the Force 3297 is a whitebox (DIY), while the Sager is not. With the whitebox, provided you can build it yourself if you have access to the parts (not difficult).

The Whitebox version is much more for DIYers.

It also depends on what OEM the "Force" version is coming from. It could be that Xotic is actually "funding" the 3-year warranty for the Force much more than they are funding the 3-year warranty for the Sager

Check the warranty, that's the main difference between a Force and a Sager laptop....components are/can be the same.
By huge you mean 150-200USD or so?

Aye. I'm on a bit of a budget, so the difference of a hundred bucks of one laptop over another makes a big impact.

Wow, I was customizing the Voodoo IFL-90 to see what parts they overcharge on, and even with the $3,300 starting price, they still ask for $125 for shipping, and if you wanted to buy a game from Voodoo, they charge $64 for Half-Life 2: Episode 1!

They must really not care about people who are on a sensible budget, they're looking for whales with deep pockets and nothing to lose!

they made their reputation onj desktops, but also overcharge for them as well. their lapstops are the same ODM as everywhere else, with a paintjob, long delivery times.
