hi, i recently bought a compal hel80 and when i tried plugging in my mp3 player into either of the right sided usb ports, it would not detect it. However, when i plugged it into the usb port on the left side, it worked. I also tried plugging in other devices into the USB ports on the right side but none of them worked. i tried uninstalling then installing them but that didnt work either. I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice. Thanks for your time

You could check the Device Manager to make sure all the USB ports are installed. I had an issue like that once with my desktop, it turned out I had some kind of conflict, and it wouldn't go away until i formatted my computer. You could always try contacting your tech support from the manufacturer.

Hey, thanks for the reply. The usb ports are installed. Could it be that the connection between the mother board and the usb ports are broken? The device manager says that they are working and are enabled.

If you've tried other devices in the port and they don't work, you probably should call tech support. Sounds like the port itself is shot, and you may need to have them replace the motherboard.
