I am having issues with the left side usb port on my hel 80. When I first got my laptop back in november it worked completely fine. About a month later I started noticing that whenever I had my wireless mouse plugged into it the mouse would lag. Now the mouse won't work at all, yet my usb key still works fine on it. Also if I use the mouse on the right side ports it works fine. So whats the deal?

Perhaps disabling and re-enabling the USB ports will reset it?

Otherwise, I'd suggest making a quick call to Powernotebooks tech support. They can help you sort this out real quick and are available 24/7.

    Good luck.

Might check to make sure that port isn't set to either a low power state, or USB 1.1 only? Other then that, Chrisyano's advice is about as sweet and simple as it gets.

Well I disabled and re-enabled them and it didn't seem to do anything. I guess I'll make a call to tech support. Thanks for your help!

Windows is really pissy about USB devices at times, and where they're plugged in. I'd consider downloading a Kubuntu/Ubuntu LiveCD, and seeing if the mouse works there. If not, then it's almost certainly a hardware problem. If it does, then I'd look at Windows, see if you can reinstall the USB device drivers and everything, and possibly the OS.
