With copious thanks to alphagamma for his excellent HEL80 guide, which I have shamelessly copied and adapted, I present the ultimate dummy guide to flashing the PowerPro P 11:12 (Compal JFT00), thus adding in support for disabling AHCI and installing Windows XP without a floppy.

Ultimate dummy guide to flashing the PowerPro P 11:12 to the latest bios: 1.03A

    0. Plug in the power supply!
    1. Download http://www.mediafire.com/?d21kdxt12c2
    2. Run JFT00103A.exe. This will write a bootable cd. Let it verify the image (reinsert the cd)!
    3. Reboot with the cd in the drive and press F2 to enter the BIOS.
    4. Arrow over to the "Boot" section and make sure that the CD/DVD is the first boot device (use the F6/F5 keys to move devices up and down)
    4. Press "F10" to save and exit, then let the boot process complete.
    5. Press a key, then type r: and ENTER (drive letter may be different. The screen which prompts you to "press any key" will also tell you what drive letter your BIOS Files are located on. If it does not say "R:" just type in whatever letter: that it shows).
    6. Run FLASH.BAT. Do not interrupt the flash process!

Beeps during the flash process and turning the laptop off without warning after the flash process is completely normal.

Once this flash is complete, the BIOS should have an option under "Advanced" to disable AHCI, making (re)installing Windows XP a much easier process.
