    Hi:

    I have a trouble with a Laptop Averatec 4100 series, 4155-EH5.
There is 3 USB ports, 2 on the right side, the port up to the CDROM, is the one to boot, but when i put a USB Pendrive with a booteable Operating System the computer always halt, if i take out the USB, im able to boot by CD or HD.

Do i need to updated the Bios?

    Can you help me.

    Regards

You may need to set your boot sequence with the "removable drive" to boot first in your BIOS.

I had to put my "USB HDD: as the first HDD in my hdd order section of my bios, and then in the boot priority order put that HDD selection first.

Even though there is a "removable device" boot selection default it never picked up my usb when I was trying to boot to it. This maybe due to how I had the flash drive formatted or just an error in the bios.

Different unit totally (Asus W90) however I am sharing as you may be in a similar circumstance.

Also I would read the manual, see if there is a key or something you may need to press to boot from a device.

Sorry both, but i think thats not the problem, when i configure the removable disk is the first to boot and i put a booteable USB the computer just halt, so if i take out the USB it continue the Boot process and if i put again the USB the laptop again Halt. Is incredible but is not working and i was thinking that this is a problem of the Bios, I research in the Ami.com web they dont support the bios for this machines.

They said i need support assistance of Averatec, i sent already an email to support USA Averatec and they dont answer my question, so what should i do.

Im unable to boot with simple Slax, with a simple WifiSlax application in my USB, i also tried with another simple USB boot with Tinyos, still not working.

Just i can boot with the CD and the HD.

Come on, if somebody has the same trouble, and if this trouble could be solved, tell me if not, to not waste time of you people.

    Regards
