Unfortunately the new Win8 visio models don't thrill...

I have a Vizio ct14-a0 and really like it alot. The combo of the 1600x900 screen, 128gb ssd and i3 ivybridge in a $650 3.5lb package just works for me.

Its also a place holder machine, since I knew I would be enticed to get something touch when windows 8 comes out. Although the ct14 has really performed above and beyond and will likely continue to do so I need something with touch for development projects.

My experience with the ct14 shot vizio to the top of my list for looking at notebooks. Unfortunately the new line of notebook is pretty much the old line of notebooks, no touch in the mix at all. The only touch item is their desktop and if I went desktop with touch id want a 650m video in it, not the intel 4000.

So, while I really like what vizio is doing I'll have to look elsewhere for my win 8 touch system. Sigh. lol.

True, but when a company designs their first series of notebooks ever, and want to be a player, and know that a new OS version with a touch centric focus is coming out in a very short time. You would think they would design around that from the beginning. They did get touch in their desktop at least.

This is all I wanted Vizio to do. Not intersted in touchscreen laptops... I've had an Asus Transformer for a while and using a touchscreen like that just doesn't make sense.

What I did want was Vizio to refine their execellent designs, maybe bump the specs a bit... so I'm stoked. The new models look awesome.
