Does anyone have a guide on how to update these?
When trying to run the fla exe it says the file needs to be run in pure dos mode. I've tried putting the files on a flash drive and booting to it with no luck as well.

First off, are you really sure you need a BIOS update? Answer this question to yourself.
Maybe you want to tell us before, why you are updating? Facing any problems?
Apart of that, you need to make the stick bootable.
So, if you feel lucky, get the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool (use google), get Windows Boot Files (Win98 copy or browse web) and make a bootable USB drive out of it - the process should be easy to do, so no further explaination. You need the Windows 98 start files tough!
Copy the BIOS and the exe (all the stuff from the zip [I guess]) onto the USB drive and start the process.
Pray!

I've got two main issues and unfortunately not much info on the web on these bios.
1. I have no options to adjust the display brightness or change any power display options.
2. No option to enable Intel-VT
Does anyone know if these issues would be resolved with the new bios? -
No idea about 2., but maybe your processor does not support it.
For 1., you could use the built-in functionality of either Windows or ATI Control Center, or the same for NVidia.
If you flash your BIOS, load the battery, attach power cord, and follow the instructions above to create a USB bootable.
Worked for me - and be sure to have a higher quality USB drive, not the one's you get for free for buying twelve bottles of milk ...
Good luck!
