    Hi everyone,

My EL80 died, but I think the components are ok. A few questions about switching over:

Can the FL90 take the older Merom core CPU?

Does it take the same battery?

    Optical drive?

Is there good availability of WSXGA models in Canada? Is it the same screen, or did it get an update as well?

    Thank you!

I don't even think the FL90 is available in Canada :(.

The battery and optical drive come with it anyway so it's not big deal.

I'm not for the merom. Are they same socket?

If my memory still served me right, any previous generation cpu won't be compatible with santa rosta platform due to different socket pin design, include merom.
