    hello everybody

    Well i have a FT00
CUSTOM NOTEBOOK Compal FT00 Core™2 Duo Performance Notebook, 14.1" WXGA TFT Glossy LCD, NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M GS Graphics : AVADirect Custom Computer Configuration

And i am dedicated to testing the possibility of a mxm upgrade.

Ive noticed that alot talk about upgrading their FL90.
Ive also noticed that alot of the drivers from the fl90 are the same as on this model also the bios and so on.
They are almost identical in the look, placing of components.
I also have the T7300 CPU as is an optional upgrade when purchasing ft00.
I dont see very much difference between the fl90 and my ft00.
Havent taken a long look at the actual hardware, but i doubt their is very much difference.

If anyone has some experience in an upgrade on this model please bring thou advise.

Anyone has any ideas on which bios i should flash with after ive installed the new ati card.
any ideas to which would be the maximum upgradeable card ?
    3650 4650 and so on.

    Some good advice is appreciated.
Guides and so on, links please :)

    wish me luck

Try this for a starter - it covers the basic questions - I hope ... I wrote it, hehe.

Flashing BIOS/vBIOS was not needed with the 3650 in the FL90, neither does the 4650 need this, as far as I can tell. The 4650 might give you problems with heat, I can't really tell, but you should keep an eye on that.

Other than that, give it a try, report back.

If you have more questions, just ask!

    Good luck!

Ive found that i can get 3650 4650 and 4670 quite expensive but i think im gonna go for it anyway, if i am succesfull it will be cheaper than buying a new (used) laptop and also it will be a fun experience.

Which would you advise me to get ? i was thinking why not get the best one :)

I have only experience with the 3650. I know from some one else that he build in the 4650, and while not getting bad temp. readings, he had occasional crashes (immediate power out), as it happens when overheating.

Go for the 4670 if you dare - get super good thermal paste, maybe you need case modding too, to get better air flow.

It's really up to you, how adventurous you are - but you don't wanna ruin your +200€ card in the first week, right?!?!

    Good luck!
