Hi again everyone![]()
Okay, so ive been thinking and looking around a bit.. and stumbled across a site which contains ALOT of different gpu bioses! including 8600m vga bioses.
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/...facturer=&model=8600M+GT&interface=&memSize=0
interesting i thought.. since maybe its there the 8xxx problems are hidden.
So I looked in my Bios and found that my VGA bios version is:
version: 60.84.41.00.16
To compare I looked at the Nvidia Bios and Asus Bios, and the newest from Asus has version:
Version: 60.84.49.00.A1
And nvidias newest is even newer:
Version: 60.84.62.00.29
So.. what im thinking is, does anyone have any experience with this? Zepto, you know anything? Are all the 6224/6324 the same VGA BIOS version ?!?
People I ask you to press F2 when your computer starts and look under "product information" at the first pagewrite down your vga bios version, and lets compare

I have the same version (big surprise) but I don't have the knowledge to gain any info from it.

Same Version and Question on a 6324W.
You also can check your Version at the Nvidia ControlPanel-Help-Systeminformation.
Looking forward....see this version:

Ditto. Video Bios version: 60.84.41.00.16. Looks like we have a theme developing

It indeed does... Now this could be nothing at all, or it could mean that Zepto might want to look at a VGA upgrade for our sorry 8600m ?!

60.84.41.00.16 aswell
its an interesting theory -
Sorry to ruin the theory, but as I uses the same version, and has no problem with stuttering, as the people who are having the stuttering trouble, it seems to reject the theory.
GotBoost--> As you have the newest version, it would be interesting whether you have any problems. -
The stuttering kicks in after about ~95C, what are your load temps?
My G1S has bios version 60.84.41.00.12 and exhibits stuttering. -
My temps are also limited to 95-96 degrees, and when this limit is reached the fps in most games are reduced. But it still keeps running in the same speed, and doesn't make the peaks some users are talking about.
The sleep-fix moved the limit up to 110c, but I haven't noticed any reductions in fps when the temp i reached. -
How are you finding out what your temperature limits are? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks.
-
Thats exactly right... without sleepfix, My laptop wont go higher than around 96 degrees, because then it starts to do stuf itself not to go over that "limit", and that causes the stuttering.
Sleepfix makes that "limit" go to 110 degrees, which... at some point makes things better, however! fps just runs great for a bit longer until the suffering very hot gpu reaches 110 degrees and then we have a problem again.
Specially with the 169.xx drivers the temp raises fast, they do however run VERY good before the temp limit is reached. -
60.84.41.00.16
169.61 vista 64 bit drivers
My stutter is long gone.....no tweaks used or anything. Been playing TF2 for 4hrs straight and no reduction in fps or spikes.
Before had stutter....went down to 160.03 drivers as they seemed to solve the stuttering for vista where as 163.67 did it for xp I think.
Stutter was gone but wanted to have performance of new drivers so updated to latest at that time which was 169.61.....to my surprise still no stutter and performance increase as well.
Here is my GPU-Z screen shot if anyone wants to compare
