Hi all, as said I've got a blue line running across my display. It's not gpu related a twisting the lcd then releasing the pressure would usually go away. But now the line actually only goes away when the screen is bent... :( I disassembled the screen and reseated everything but nope it is still there. Twisting the actual panel don't seem to do anything, twisting the panel when it is screwed show results but I still don't know the exact cause of the problem... Any ideas?
Twisting the screen one way make the line disappear while doing it the other way makes more line of different colors appear.

I think I must have voided my warranty somewhere along the way too..

Right in the middle the display, 1 pixel wide and blue. Are you sure it's dead?

Does the line show up even when you're in BIOS?

Yup,there is a faulty connection somewhere.

EDIT: I did some research and apparently my lcd is bad and it's not something I can fix by myself... It doesn't bother me that much but I might have to change my panel somewhere down the road. Do you think a xps 15.4" wuxga panel would fit?

Man, that sucks. Are you in the US? Donald from powernotebooks.com can help you with screen parts.

That would be great. I hope it won't cost me more than getting a new barebone since I've seen the prices of Dell panels and they are between $300-$500... Anyway I think I'll just wait for it to die completely as I can just ignore the line for now... I think.

Lol, you are so funny. I wouldn't personally not be able to live with it.

Perhaps you can get a desktop background that mask the blue line a little :D

You may check connections indeed, maybe it's just some plug isn't plugged in deep enough or some of it cables cut. All two LCD connectors are located right under touch sanative panels left side.

Chi Mei is correct, contact powernotebooks for a price indication and on how to install the LCD panel.

I already know how to do it ^^ It's fairly straight forward. Interestingly enough the screen on the ifl90 is easier to remove than on my previous POS Acer. I finally found the chi mei panel on the website zfactor wrote. But I also found a wuxga lg panel for the same price on ebay... Since everything is standardized all 15.4" lcd panel should have the same size. I think I'll get that lg panel and report here if it works...

Someone compared them in September, I think, and told Chi Mei was more colorful or something.

you are going to get more and more and more lines. Just make sure you leave the lcd alone. Do not close and open your lcd. My toshiba has about 50 lines going through. Started with 1 line then another and another.
It was almost cheaper to buy new lappy than toshiba's lcd. so got my self new lappy

Are you completely certain that you've voided your warranty? Perhaps you should contact your reseller to be sure. Having the factory replace the LCD for you under warranty would seem preferable to buying one off eBay and installing it yourself.

While that would be preferable I want to try to put a wuxga panel in there, which is not possible if I sent it back. :D And anyway it has received some physical damage so I'm pretty confident my warranty is gone...
