    Hi there,

bad luck, looks like you are one oth thousands who got "screwed" by nVidias screw-up on the 8600M GT and its sister cards.

See this thread to learn what you can do to get it working again.

    Cheers

Yep, it worked for me for one of two cards.

There are videos on youtube, check these out, too.

I heat the oven up to 180° Celsius, put in the card for 10 minutes. Let the card cool off and put it back in.

It is not a permanent solution in most cases!

    Good luck!

Are you sure you put everything back together correctly? Did you reapply the thermal paste before putting the GPU back?

You do not need thermal paste to get output - it's just that you will fry your card if you do not use thermal paste and run your computer for longer than 1 minute or so.

Thermal paste or not, if you do not get nay output, the card is just waste - back into the oven for another try, or dump it on ebay and get an ATI card as replacement (ATI 3650 DDR2 512 MB is safest option).

When putting a new card in, you will need thermal paste! Not for making the card work, but for keeping it working for more than one run.

    Good luck!
