The Victor MP-XV831 has finally gone on sale here in Japan. Victor claims it is the smallest DVD-RW notebook in the world and weighs 1.47kg and features a 1GHz CPU, 802.11 b/g, 256MB or onboard RAM, 40GB HDD and a 5.5 hour battery life.
Another interesting feature is the built-in HD-TS decoder which is basically a Hi Definition video capture and is suppose to be used with the GR-HD1 Hi Definition video camera. A nice feature for professional video production. A nice unit but a touch pad and larger screen by reducing the bezel would have made the unit even more desirable. What an odd looking notebook. I don't suppose we'll see that in the US any time soon.
