The P1 MX and EX models are both market as having "Ultra Viewing Angle (UVA) 160°" displays. I'm talking about the standard screens here, not the optional transflective ones. Are these viewing angles really true? All the notebooks I have seen have had relatively poor viewing angles, even Sony. Most manufacturers don't quote viewing angles in their specs, probably because they are so bad. So do the MX and EX really have significantly better than normal viewing angles? Are they different screens than what Asus uses in their standard models? I don't see any mention of UVA or viewing angles in the Asus literature. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has one of these "UVA" screens. Thanks!

Alright, I have an older EX model and I have the standard screen. I am not sure how to judge all viewing angels, so I will just inform you with what I can and hope you make the best of it.

I can view the screen normally from left to right, until about 20 degrees then things don't look as crisp. so I want to say the ultra viewing angle is correct about being 160 degrees.
From viewing below is a different story, when it is above eye level the screen's color blend a lot more and it is tough to differenciate colors. Everything seems to be black, white, grey, or an offset light color if viewed as a dark color normally.

And I haven't judged other screens too much, other than noticing that mine seemed better than a Sony FJ in Best Buy. Hope that helps, a little.
