So i bought the vigorgaming artorius. It was a good deal for a gaming notebook with 17" screen. Package arrives, and everything seems fine. There is a cheap 3-ring binder with 3 sheets of paper on simple troubleshooting. It was basically a getting started guide for Windows Me. Lil wierd, but whatever. Let's check out the goods.
Laptop was good to go. No instruction on what any of the buttons on the notebook did. Granted this is just an assembled machine from various 3rd parties, but i expected the case mfg to have some sort of quick reference sheet. Most buttons have pictures, so no biggie. Hoe does it run?
The screen is sharp. 1440*900 and it's fairly bright. Has a bad halo effect, but i get over that pretty fast. Runs realy well. Games have a smooth FR and the machine isnt too hot at all. what's so bad?
The machine runs great......for about 15 min. Then it locks solid. Speakers lock up on a wretched squeal and nothing responds. Ouch, so i reset and all is well. This is what i have been doing for 3 months while vigor gives me broekn english on what to try. They send/bill me for a new HD and tell me to try that. No instructions, just a box with an HD....I say to myself "ok" and shove it in. 15 min or so......bam. WTF.... I think to myself, " maybe it is overheating" So i hit the fan button on the machine, and framerate grind to a halt. WTF , the fan steals soo much power that i can barely play mp3's, what gives? Well, it's not that bad, but games run choppy with the fan on.
So, my 30 day return policy has past. They take about 2 days to respond via email. It's hard to talk to them on the phone because the serive guys have a wierd asian/indian accent. No enthusiam, not apologetic. just ....meh
is there a hardware issue? or is this think bunked and broke.
Artorius - Uniwill P71EN

anyone else deal with them?

Well they have a good reseller rating, customers seem happy. I recently read a review of one of their quad SLI desktop systems that was apparently configured incorrectly and was not performing well, they have since fixed that they say...
If they won't take it back at least demand it be fixed they can at least do that for you. -
i've had a similar freezing problem as well. it might be your ram. try out memtest86. download the iso and burn it to cd using something like nero. then reset your computer and the program should work if you have the cd in the drive (if it doesn't, you will have to adjust your boot order in bios). if it has errors, it is a good sign that you're ram is bad.

well they have stopped the email chain.
Their service dept agreed to take it back, keep it for about 2 weeks to see what is wrong. That was quite a few days back. I took them up on the offer, eventhough it means i wont a notebook for approx a month.
i wonder what could have happened? humm....
i'll check the memory. ya never know i guess... -
Especially if they used cheap ram or you were just unlucky and got some bad ram. Thats why I use crucial-its the most stable ram there is.
