Im running vista 64 bit on my 6615Wd right now. all basic funtions seems to run fine. that meens my hybride tvcard and 7600 512mb screencard to :D I do have problems with some devices thouge.

    1) There dont seem to exsist a 64bit driver for the bisoncam :( thats a minor problem, but offcorse help will be apreciated!

    2) There are som recocnition isues. I have two unknown devices in the device manager. One is a "mass storage controller" located on the "pci bus 9, device 6, function 2" with a hardware Id called "PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_803B&SUBSYS_00401170&REV_00" the other (proberbly some how conected to the other one), is located on "Generic Bus" whit the Hardware id called "ACPI\SMCF010" (name just "Unknown device") I think maybe thise devices are located on the mainbord or the chipset not being recocniced proberly. I wonder what mainbord is in thise machines !?!

And 3) This is a bit imbarasing. I accedently turend the realtek net card off. and instead of turning up in the device manager with a big fat red cross on it, it disaperd?!? where to? one wonders!

Another nusince is that there is no warning about low battery. The machine simply turns off. No "pling!" or popup, just black screen. But this might be due to me not realy being "at home" in vista jet.

well if anyone else have any expirience with znotes and vista 64bit. I would love to hear about it. If anyone can help me with any of the problems I experience, I promice to love you :)

    UPDATE 2

My realtek net card is back. so thats good :) It turned up today after being "walkabout" for 3 days. Not With a red cross, but a with wite arrow pointing down. Guess it was just a windows "fluke".

Im now confidante that the "Unknown Device" is infact the QLbuttons. Its the only hardware not acounted for. The QLbuttons are produced by "Inventec" as is infact most of the zepto caseings. Unfortualy thats a dead end driver vice, sinse the company dont seem to have a download service, at least not one that is avalible to the end user. and I havent been able to find another retailer that uses the Inventec laptop caseings.

Ive incountered a nother nusince. vista seems to have the same slep/hybernate >1GBram problem as XP had and so far Ive not been able to find a fix. but one vonders if that wont be fixed eventualy by vista autoupdates.

My conclusion on this project is that YES it is posible to run vista 64bit on Znote 6615WD if you can do without the bisoncam and the QLbuttons. Personaly I will proberbly ceep this install since Ive used so mutch time on it and I dont realy need the webcam.

    what you need Is :
the nvidia referance drivers for 8800 series vista 64bit with the laptopvideo2go tweak that is described on other pages here.

you need the texas instruments TIxx21 driver from gateway.com (referance laptop "MX6442") dont worry about it not specificaly saying its for vista64bit.

and if you like me have the hybride tv card you need the 64bit xp driver.

if you need help doing this install your self or getting the driver please write a post her and not to my email

    With friendly regards

I realy only play one game. Eve-online. But that works fine. I think most programs that dont requier kenel or other hig system access wil work on 64 bit since the OS has surport for 32 bit based programs. But Im realy only guessing. you have to try you self.
