Ok my first problem is fixed, but I'm leaving it as it is so that if someone has the same problem...

    I have another problem now.
My Geforce 7600 isn't recognized as anything other than a default graphics card. And the Zepto screen is considered like a 'default VGA screen' and wont go over 1024*768.
Does anyone know where I can find correct drivers ?

    Hey everybody.

I'm very upset (or pi**ed) to be having to write this thread at the moment...

I received Windows Vista Business from my school.
But, the installation failed twice. It seems that the installation makes the computer bug.
Twice the installation failed at the same time : At 64% of the "Completing Installation" part (so pretty much at the end).
What happens is a blue screen appears with white text for 1/4th of a second, then the PC reboots and the installation process says it failed (but doesn't say why) and that it's putting my old version of windows back.

Here is the context : Vista Business update from a WinXP family edition, zepto bios 1.15 (the first time) and 1.17 (the second).
My zepto config is in my signature and shouldn't logically cause any problem...

    Help !!

which do you have, a installation or upgrade disc may i ask? so you are booting in xp then install or boot from The Vista CD?
No offence but i never was able to use upgrade (installation fail)and always used clean install.
Just asking, is the laptop keyboard any good? i'm getting a new laptop soon and quite like 6314(same laptop but in white)

    Cheers

I have the complete version of Vista Business which gives me a choice at the beginning of the installation to either 'upgrade an existing version of XP' or 'start from scratch' (partition format & clean install).
And I start the installation in winXP not from Vista CD boot.

(i like the keyboard yeah, it has a nice feel)

Here are the 'minor incompatibilities' Vista detects before installation :
BTW : if I create a new partition (i.e with Parition Magic) can I install Vista on it without risking to lose the data on the original paritition ?

Well, if you have the full edition of Vista Business, I would suggest that you try to boot from the DVD (make sure it's enabled in the bios) and try a clean install that way.

I doubt it changes anything since the installation makes the pc reboot a couple of times and the part where it screws up, the installation process is not in winxp.

I asked some guys from my school's tech helpdesk and they told me they had had problems with a pc with Mcaffee viruscan installed, so I uninstalled it and I'm giving it a shot again. I'll keep you informed. Verdict in at least an hour.. :p

    OK so that's done ! I worked.

It was McAffee Virus Scan that was the cause of the problem.

    I have another problem now...

My screen is blocked @ 1024*768 max resolution and the 7600 go is not detected.
    Can anyone help me ?
