    Hi, i've a IFL90 (santech x3620 here in italy) with T7700.

I've vista32 ultimate, and i'm trying the power plan.

If i select "balanced" power plan, the cpu should change dinamically from 800 to 2400, but in idle it stays a lot on 2400..sometimes 2000 or 1600 for a few seconds....and then again at 2400.

if i set "max power save" it stays at 800.

so i try to modify the "balanced" plan to maxcpu=50% and mincpu=5% (the same of the "max power save" plan), but it stays always at 1200. Like if he stays always at maxcpu freq.

Someone can try this and let me know?? thx

    Hi Macche,

Did you order your notebook with Vista, or did you install it yourself? My first thought would be to reinstall all drivers, especially the chipset driver, which you can get from:
    http://www.bizcom-us.com/support/TechSupportDriversDownloadPage.htm#FL90

Incidentally, the site appears to be down at the moment, but the link should work once Compal gets their site back up.

Try running all available Windows Updates to see if there might be a non-critical update along the way that fixes some of the power management schemes.

You can create your own custom power plan and save it. That's what I did; created two of my own and chose all the options myself for each. You cannot delete the pre-packaged plans, but you don't have to use them!
