    Well they do! :)

Ironically I'm considering a TimelineU M5 while I write this as my low budget alternative if I can't afford the Vizio. :p

Most of us getting this computer are going to keep it because there really are not very many other options like it. I'm coming from a dell xps 16 and honestly I loved that computer except for the battery life and fans always on and weight. The vizio cures all those things for me in a very nice package. But what it adds is now it's harder to work on it because the trackpad. I could do photoshop on it with no problem it was not an issue. With this pad do not even attempt. The reason is like another guy said the fine tune detail is not there.

Yes the trackpad works and like vizio will tell you it's a gesture pad so it's different and I kinda understand that but what I don't understand is other computers with this same style of pad work better than this one. For simple stuff it's fine it's only when you need to be accurate. Now I know I can buy a mouse so I guess it's no biggie as I prefer a mouse anyway but in my field sometimes I have to pull over from driving open up my laptop and get to work on something. And I'm used to having a trackpad that could just do those simple things.

I'm getting used to it and this new way and it's not as horrible as I described, all in all i would say this computer is a buy mainly due to ivy brige, screen and price. I would suggest the all in one and the ultrabook 15 inch. The notebook and the 14 inch ultrabook I would not suggest just because the notebook is thicker and for that price you could get a dell xps or hp envy and those are better in my opinion. Also the keyboard and trackpad from this ultrabook I don't think is a good idea. And the 14 inch ultrabook I don't see the point the 15 is so thin and light.

To me I still stick to my almost there review. If this computer would of had backlit keyboard, better keyboard, and better trackpad it would of made a major mark in the pc market.

Well the new XPS models start at 1099+ for the XPS14, and 1299+ for the XPS15.

A comparable Envy model has slightly lower specs, I think. To get their IPS display, (which is lower quality afaik, although its still IPS) you need to go up to 1100$ assuming a 450$ off coupon. Then you still have a dual core, but a better GPU (I believe). So kind of your own preference, I would prefer Vizio because I hate HP, AMD graphics switching sucks, and the Vizio looks better imo.

I agree with most of what you said though, :p

had to post in this old thread because i felt it was necessary to address the 2 major complaints....keyboard/trackpad and battery life.

ive had my CT15-A1 for a few weeks now and out of the box i was very impressed with the keyboard...perfect feel for fast typers....
but the trackpad on the otherhand, was disspointing to say the least.
however, after updating all the drivers/etc for the trackpad i've really noticed an improvement. it is still jumpy and erratic when you attempt fine detailed movements and i think that this may be the way its designed....the trackpad is pretty good for basic use and things like web browsing etc where the gestures are actually useful....but im not sure its a worthy trade-off.
i use a mouse most of the time anyways so this is hardly a major concern for me...

Battery life ranges from 4 - 6 hours depending on settings....it won't win any endurance contests thats for sure but i feel the shorter battery life is acceptable considering the high-end display and hardware.....

Does this have 1 or 2 DIMM slots? Can RAM be upgraded? to 8G or 16G?
