    Hey peeps,

How come theres no volume meter when you are increasing/decreasing the volume meter... am I missing an option that allows you to do this?

Maybe programs are out there that do it for you but id prefer system settings to display how high the volume actually is or how low

My old asus had this... there was a lil window that poped up that had a volume bar on it and it when up and down whenever i fiddled with it and said sound off when it was all the way down.

The OSD thing on ASUS notebooks are a driver function (via ATK0100 ACPI Driver). As far as I know, Compals don't have it.

Is there a program/driver that shows the meter?

I downloaded the intellitype software from the ms site... It does what you're looking for... the problem is that the mute button doesnt work anymore but you can set the wow audio and video buttons to something else...

Which keyboard did you select when you installed? I'm trying it now but still not getting a volume meter when I change it.

I think you're asking about the "on-screen dislay". I had the same issue with my HEL80. The solution I found was to go to the compal website and download the EZ Button program from the DL76 model ( http://www.bizcom-us.com/support/HDL76/DriversV02/easy1070.zip). Once the program installs, there should be an EZ icon in your system tray. If you right-click on it, you should be able to configure the font and colour of the OSD.
    Hope this works for you.

Hi, just unzip the file attached in your windows folder and put osd_vol.exe in startup for all users...it will give you On Screen Display for volume, mute and others. Looks like IBM OSD.
It's the easiest way to do it and very resource-friendly.
    Good luck

Nice Tip with the IntelliType Software!

I use IntelliType Pro 6.1 32-bit für Windows XP

Works great! Also the Mute Button Works! And you can redefine the WOW Buttons.

I have choosen the third Keyboard ( Digital Media Pro Keyboard) - or the second ( Digital Media Keyboard) - don't know.
