Not sure if this is technically the correct forum, but here we go anyway.

Is there any way to use lower resolutions for gaming that stay in the aspect ratio for the monitor on my Znote 6625WD (alternatively, can I run things in a kind of letterbox mode?)? I can't find the options in games I play, nor the display control panel (that's less of a problem, as outside of gaming it's fine with all that space and the sharp picture). Are there drivers I need to do this? Or can I simply not do it at all?

    Thanks beforehand.

Well I know that in games like Half Life 2 or Counter Strike Source you can choose what aspect resolutions to have. They are 16:10, 16:9 or 4:3 (each of which having several res choices in their category). Those are pretty old games, so I assume most new games will have a choice in displaying different aspects.

Yoou can in the Nvidia Control panel choose not to use scaling on the display. I use that myself not to get a grainy picture on my 6214W if i use a piece of software that needs to run in other resolutions than 1280x800.

Get this (take the driver and the modden inf, replace the inf before installing driver). Also in-game there should be options to use diff res. I have mine set at 1280x960@60Hz when playing Battlefield 2, its a sharp picture :)

Ah, new drivers seem to have resolved my lack of resolution options (and also allowed me to run Dawn Of War with the apparent fixing of my spooge driver error 0_o). I'm just slightly baffled as t why there were only four available with the stock drivers, and only one of which was widescreen.

Oh well, maybe I'll find out if these crash soon.
