some of you may be finding that your new IFL90's wow video/audio buttons etc. are not working. This is because apparently they did not even connect many of them at the factory!

So here is a simple guide to connecting the data strip for those media buttons yourself

    http://66.44.201.29/FL90/powerpanel.htm

*note on Step 7: Pull out the brown plastic tabs on either side and insert the data strip INSIDE the white circuit board housing.

Also, after you get them to work, is anyone else's wow video/audio property screen broken? As in it only shows some of the options and you can tell there are more, but you cannot maximize the screen or make it larger in any way to make them visible. Same with the smartbattery property screen...

    +1

I was really worried about this when I ordered my Sager NP2090. So, if they don't work when mine arrives, I could fix it. Surprising that this isn't noticed in the factory. Anyway, thanks!

Damn!!!! StoCom is this supposed to fix a case in which ALL the heat sensitive buttons at the top Web/Email/WowVideo/WowAudio/Mute do not work. On my machine they all individually light up when I put my finger on them. However, Wow Video and Wow Audio don't do anything. I'm assuming a software issue right now.

    wow....
does anyone else think the fact that i have to dissemble on a new laptop kinda to make media buttons work is very disappointing? =\ especially with high praises regarding ifl90 quality and stuff.
but thanks for the guide, it could come in handy. =)

Mine weren't connected either. This fixed the issue.

It should have been done in assembly - but its easy to fix.

The buttons work on my PowerPro 10:15 :p (are you guys using Vista? I could see where the WoW ones might not be supported under XP)

In case this helps you guys figure out if you've got them all working or not, I'll describe 'em...

    (from left to right)
    * www icon - launches firefox (or whatever your default www browser is)

    * email icon - launches thunderbird (or whatever your default mail client is)

    * Wow video - switches between Office, Photo, Theater, & user defined (a little window slides up from the bottom right corner)

    * WoW audio - switches between Classic, Speech, Pop, & Flat (again, a little window slides up from bottom right corner)

    * speaker icon - mutes/unmutes the speakers.

Wow, thanks. How'd you figure it out?

Was alot of force needed to get the panel off? And were you able to press it down flush with the laptop after you removed it? And is tehre any cosmetic damage after using a screwdriver.

I'd like to get Sager's OK and have them tell me "Our bad, it won't void your warranty since it's our screw up". Not gonna happen though.

That's definitely a driver issue. If the strip wasn't connected none of the buttons would work.

The wow video/audio drivers can be found at the bottom of your selected os as 'wowva' here:
    ftp://ftp.littlebit.ch/Littlebit Systems/Notebook/Stingray Z84 (FL90)/Driver/

Tech support are the ones who told me to do this so I doubt your warranty will be voided. Not much force was required to get the panel off and yes I was able to press it down flush afterwards. No cosmetic damage was caused.

Oh, so my WOW buttons light up, but don't do anything. IS that a driver/software issue?

Thanks. Well, I my machine was correctly setup then. I'd bet at some point Sager got wind of that issue and started inspecting and fixing all of their machines before shipping.
