    Warranty on GL30 - MilestonePC gone

    I purchased and ASUS A8JS for myself and a Compal GL30 for my sister from Milestone PC back in November 2006. Luckily the ASUS has the mfr. warranty, but since the Compal is a barebones I'm a bit concerned.

    Was having a problem with it shutting off after boot up on the Compal that at first concerned it was a hardware/fan and heat issue (turned out to be software), but I'm pretty sure it had a 2 year warranty. If between now and when the warranty expires the laptop breaks is there anything I can do or am I SOL as it looks like Milestone PC is gone? Is Milestone PC really completely gone - and if so, is there any mfr. warranty (assuming not...)?

    Please don't shoot the messenger...but your warranty expired at the same time MilestonePC expired. The Compal warranty is for 1 year only, so you were relying on MilestonePC for the 2nd year.

    At this point you will have to pay for any repairs that might be required...but then that isn't the end of the world...is it?

    Hmmm, they sell compal barebones at our stores and they all have 2 year warranty.

    The suppliers in Lithuania: Asbis, GNT, Acme..... (the same one that sell all other stuff for PCs)
