I was looking for an upgrade, so I went to go reformat the averatec to give to my mom and BAM it freezes 10% in and the screen screws up and is unresponsive. I tried many times to reboot and start over and 10/11 times it wouldn't do anything and the 11th time it went to recovery console and started the evaluate hardware and BAM crashed again! Ill be operating on it tonight to see what the issue is, but I think its toast and really not worth the money to fix. I'm hoping I can at least get it running as a frankenstien'd desktop but we will see.
Im really sad as I was hoping that this laptop would have a good home with my moms (that means I get to play with it every time I visit them), but all good things must come to an end I guess. It had a good run as a work horse, and served me well without issue (except a minor ram issue). SO I guess this is my farewell to the averatec forums (I was a user from the old www.averatecforums.com and the newer variant).

I have the same thing. It's a huge POS. In 2 months I don't need it anymore, I just hope it makes it that far...I'll never buy Averatec again, and I'll make sure no one I know does either.
