    IFL90 uses the C2D santa rosa chipset CPUs. e.g. T7500, T7700 etc...

So T5500 would be in that list?

Yes it is, but why go with the T5500 when the T7250 and T7500 are so affordable?

I can understand that sentiment, but the T7500 really is Intel's sweet spot right now...you get the benefit of the extra L2 cache over the T5500 and T7250, and it's a much better price than the T7700, T7800, or X7900.

Besides that, unless you buy a VBI (FL90) system, I don't think you'll find many resellers even offering the T5500 as an option.

The C2D T5500 is socket M processor which will not work in the IFL90(Socket P). However, if you want to buy the Hel80 barebone, then the T5500 will work ;)

For budget processors look at the T5450, T5470(or the cheapest Socket P proceessor you can find).

Yeah, unless you want a paper weight :) . If you already order a T5500 online from a online store like Newegg, then contact them and cancel ASAP or see if you can get them to change the order and not be charged the difference(worth a try ;))
