    What do i need to know before installing vista ultimate 64bit on my hgl30

    what problems will w8 for me and what do i need to do before i install it?

    Currently i have 111A bios installed, will it work?

    First thing is that you need to make sure you've got the Core 2 Duo, and not the Core Duo. Second is, why're you installing the 64-bit version? 32-bit doesn't have enough compatibility issues for ya?

    i have the core duo t2050 1.6ghz, doesnt it support 64 bit???????

    nope, only the core 2 Duo supports 64 bit

    You can only put 32bit on it. x86 is a generic architecture, and includes the 286, the 386, etc. 64bit support is called "x86-64" generally.

    everest tells me x86, MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 support...

    Core Duo = Yonah = 64bit no.
    Core 2 Duo = Merom = 64bit yes.

    We're so sure because none of the Core Duo chips have 64-bit support, and all the Core 2s do. I wouldn't worry about it, personally, though. What're you concerned that you'll miss with 32-bit Vista?

    no im not concerned about anything :) yust if u can choose id choose 64 bit... but as i see ur telling me i cant put 64bit or x86 on my laptop :/.. but why does everest tell me i have x86 support on my processor..?

    X86 is generally another term for 32 bit, X86-64 is for 64bit.
