I want to upgrade to a IFL/FL 90. On different web sites I've noticed they all have the same description listed, but with different prices and manufacturer's numbers. One site has 2 IFL 90 listed. The $625 one has a manufacturer part number IFL90120015. The $525 one has the part number IFL90120007. Another part number was IFL90120014. Is there a web site that lists these numbers so you know what you are getting? Thanks.

Thank you for the help, now I'll know what to look for.

ZipZoomFly pulled the laptop in the link. It was there yesterday, but when I went back to order it today it was gone. They still have 2 cheaper versions available. So far they haven't replied to my request for more information.

Maybe it'll be in the back of your laptop.

The model numbers were on the websites of the sellers. I haven't found them on my laptop.
-
-
These are just part numbes to keep the configurations apart.
-
Hi, where do we find the mobo part number, the IFL90XXXXXXX?
-
I think, like masterbw and RePaRaQu said, they are numbers to define which options are included. The laptop I bought was a SKU: IFL90120015. I'm guessing the vendor or suppliers can tell what the SKU:IFL90XXXXXXX number is from the serial number. This number may not be found in the laptop, but a reference number for sales.
-
Ahhhh, that would explain why I don't find it, I will try send the serial#, thanks. What is your # and how did you get it?
-
My number is SKU: IFL90120015 and it was in the sale add for my laptop on EXcaliberpc.com's website. masterbw's information tells me that it is Top of line, Verifid By Intel
1440 x 900, 9-cell battery, 8600 512MB DDR2, Biometric, TPM chip
$578-680, which it is, plus webcam and optional bluetooth, Turbo memory, and TV.
I don't know for sure if you can get the SKU number from the serial number, I was guessing at that. -
That's what they told you but how can you know for sure?
-
Well it had everything it was suppose to have except it was missing the TV connectors/ports and that was determined to be a screw up at the factory.
I had to trust the vendor that they were delivering the item I ordered. With or without the number you still have to trust who you are doing business with. It all goes back to masterbw's post that the numbers help define what version of the laptop the seller is describing. If I had received a laptop that fit the cheapest version, I would have sent it back for the correct one. -
hummm, I'm not sure. I think it should be written inside somewhere to mee the iso requirements.
-
It might be, but I haven't got it back yet to look.
-
I have asked to all the gurus and no one has answered, so I think that # is just a marketing gimic.
-
It's marketing, the numbers are just there for Compal th provide the vendor with the clean barebone details about the default configurations.
What's the difference in Compals part #'s for IFL90
