I have decided to certainly buy a 6615WD, but I was watching the info video on the Zepto site and it said that all laptops could have a painted cover. I haven't seen this option on the site for a while. Someone did mention that there was a problem with the Finnish manufacturers, so do you know if this has been sorted out and when they will be available?

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to buying my Zepto! :D

If I remember correctly, the custom LCD lids were only available in certain areas (UK?). I would contact Zepto to ask directly--as they would be the ones who could set that up for you.

Congratulations on making your buying decision. You will definitely love your new 6615WD! I wish they were available here in the US.

Wow that was certainly a prompt reply, you do seem to be on here all hours!

I am in the UK, but I happened to stumble upon Zepto's international website, with flashy videos and things. I wonder when the UK website will be updated to look like that, it's much more professional looking.

Anyway, I haven't seen it on the UK site for a while, but there is a picture of a customised 6214 on the front. In fact, as far as I recall, they were the only model I've ever seen with the option of a personalised case.

Also, isn't the HEL80 which you have, basically the same as a 6615, but with half the VRAM and a different appearance / keyboard? I think I heard the 6615 is made by Compal, is that right? Does it have an optional TV-tuner?

Anyway, thanks, and I will contact Zepto. Is it better to PM Rene or someone, or email?

Zepto - KMJ is the current representative who is online here at NBR more often these days. I don't think he's in the UK, but he should be able to at least answer your question about the custom lid job.

But now that you mention it, it may be a 6214W-specific feature.

The HEL80 is actually the Znote 2425W, not the 6615WD. I'm not really sure who the ODM of the 6615WD is but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find out if you were so inclined.

I'ts right that we had some problems with the manufakturers. We are now looking at the possibility to make the covers ourselfes inhouse. When and if we starts to take orders on them I can't say.
