Compusa used to carry it last week. I'm checking out the website right now and they only carry the 1020 now. Also the averatec website doesnt list any places that carry it anymore. What gives?

they could be updating it and as such would pull the current model from the stores until the new one is shipped. This is my guess.

If thats the case, then I'm looking forward to a a new 1000 with a faster cpu, a dvd-r, and perhaps some rabbit out of the hat trick that makes you go "ooo". But if the 1050 becomes available again in its current incarnation I'll probably pick one up anyway

Funny how they did keep the 1020 but remove the 1050. I heard several people returning the 1050 because it has many problems like with its touchpad. So maybe CompUSA got sick of getting returns on it and scrapped it, just a guess.
