P1 doesn't charge for taxes (if you live outside of California) or shipping. What's the shipping fee on the Milestone?

EDIT: I see that, at least as an introductory offer, Milestone is offering free shipping, and some of the upgrades are cheaper than equivalent upgrades from P1.

P1 also has awesome customer support, so if something is to go wrong with your machine, they will help you.

I decided to finally order it and went w/ PortableOne since MilestonePC turned out to be around the same price because of Shipping & Handling and Insurance or something. I bought it for $1549 from P1 without the BT option because I personally don't need it.

I also get the carrying case from P1...does anyone know what it looks like? Any pics? Is it good?

I can't wait to get it. The computer I'm on right now sucks.

Although I don't know first-hand what comes on the ordinary Asus ensemble, I can say with conviction that with a Portable One machine you get a pronounced lack of bloatware, and you get some rather decent anti-virus/machine manager software in a machine that's been individually burned in and tested before it was sent to you, which translates into zero hassles when you pull it out of the box and want to set up. Seriously, I had set aside several hours of my day to patch/uninstall stuff/reinstall Windows, etc. the day mine was delivered--and it took me all of half an hour to get down to business (most of that spent checking the Web for newer versions of drivers--which I totally did not need to do, since the machine was primed already)

The case I got was a decent, fairly small, business-type black bag. Nothing really fantastic, but more than I expected for a freebie. I found it perfect for carrying the machine solo, but a bit small when it came time to drag the power supply, extra battery, work folders, etc. around as well. If you use the provided bag, you will look like a normal business person with a normal machine...only you will know the stealthy truth of how great the machine inside actually is! :)

My review for my EX has a pic of the bag, its in the first pic, I know its not much of a pic but at least there is one. And just for you to know, the machine you are on always sucks, until you start using a new one, then its the best.

Thanks for the pic...well my pc truly does suck. Its a Compaq 800 mhz computer that I bought in 1996 that has survived this long with its frequent breakdowns and multiple reformats.

GentechPC also has it for 1498 with windows XP Pro. They have excellent reseller ratings, but only 47 lifetime votes.

I placed an order yesterday morning...when should I expect to get a tracking #? How long does it usually take to ship (I'm in NY btw)
