That's look really cheap, I wonder if it's a good OEM? What about their customer support? Their delivery policy? their product warranty?

Yep...Barebones can be cheaper if you have/can get the parts easily but if you factor in warranty, troubleshooting etc, it might be better getting a assembled version.

I dont know where to get the cheapest version but check the compal FAQ for stores that might sell barebones(for any store, check out their Resellerrating-customer satisfaction rating)

Also the T2050 wont work since its Socket M(IFL90 takes Socket P). The rest of the old parts should work(FYI, IFL90 takes a mini-pciE wifi card and IDK about the dvd-drive-they are mostly pretty "standard" but you might have trouble with the bezel/panel[might not be flush with the side of the notebook] lso...)

Also here is an assembly guide that should apply to the IFL90(its for a OCZ DIY notebook-rebrand of Compal JFL92)

I looked on Ebay and a new screen for the A105 runs about $150.00, which i guess would be OK, i kinda wanted a real video card not the intel 945 chipset card in the A105.

Is there a compal laptop i could use all my old parts in ??? socket M cpu and and all ???

I guess i might just be better off getting the nw sceeen and keeping the old laptop, but i know black friday i could probably get a better laptop for like $300.00, decisions, decisions ???

oh yeah does anybody makes a barebone with a better video card then the 8600gt ???

I believe the Compal HEl80 w/ go 7600 uses Socket M processors(as well as a SATA HDD and DDR2 memory) but its a old model so availability might be limited.

If you are willing to go a 17in laptop and spend some more money, then check out the Clevo Barebones at RJtech.com(other sites are listed Clevo Guide in the Sager/Clevo forum).

As for the need for a new laptop, its up to you. If you want to be mobile and have the power to play a game or two, then a gaming laptop is probably what you want. If you want a mobile computer, then fix up the current laptop(or buy another cheap one) and maybe build a desktop PC for gaming.

so is the NP92 socket M or socket P ???

and why dont these companys put that right there in the specs so you know what cpu to buy????

and how do you tell the sockets apart just looking at them???

i have my A105 fully disassembled and the socket says "uPGA478MT socket" on the socket.

I guess that since you are interested in building your laptop they assume that you know what you are doing... That's my $0.02.
