I'm new to NBR so I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct section or if my question is even appropriate for this subforum?
I'm looking to buy my first gaming notebook and I'm leaning heavily toward the OCZ but I'm concerned that there may be some gaming/performance issues with this laptop due to driver support/lack thereof issues. I'm am a "newbie" in the literal sense and pretty much would be restriced to support given by the re-seller or others within the NBR community.
I'm looking into the "usual suspects" of sellers...K|N, Xotic, and RK. I will need alot of support and so I'm wondering what kind of software support are people recieving from their respective laptop sellers? It seems to myself that K|N offers extensive support with "tweaks" and modded drivers. Does Xotic provide the for customers? How about RK?
Here are the main specs I'm looking at:
OCZ Whitebook/Nagamaki/Force...
x9100
Dual ATI 3870s
4gb RAM
160 gig 7200rpm hdd
Vista 64bit
Thanks in advance.

Mine just arrived yesterday and I got it from XoticPC and I was very happy with their service. I have heard good things about RK Computers and their customer service as well. Killer Notebooks is more expensive but the guy does some modifications to the system too.
If I was recommending a company to a friend I would go with Xotic. -
"Which seller to purchase the OCZ from?"
configuration, budget, costumer support.
in your case
"OCZ Whitebook/Nagamaki/Force...
x9100
Dual ATI 3870s
4gb RAM
160 gig 7200rpm hdd
Vista 64bit"
"I will need alot of support" it depends what support you want.
Xotic and RK and K|N offer a nice costumer support.
K|K also offers a heat mod and costume drivers but it's more expensive then the other sellers.
It's really up to you. you known what your needs are and how much you want to spend. But with any of the three above you get a nice costumer support. -
It's CUSTOMER! -
Shane@DARK. Company Representative
Maybe they just like to shop while wearing costumes
-
I can sell you this system for $2700 which is hundreds of dollars less than the other guys. Plus you can use $200 MS cashback so you will end up saving at least $500.

Sorry guys I just posted a new thread almost duplicating this topic, though mine was geared at the best PRICE offered on this notebook (OCZ Whitebook).
I've been fixated on and researched thoroughly all vendors selling this thing (yes, I've gone through that one post listing all vendors selling OCZ whitebooks) and determined that RK Computers is the best price. My question was, has anyone found a better price on this?
As an aside, I've read (and probably you too) several posts indicating RK Computers as a reliable vendor. And to the skeptics, no I am not affiliated with them in any capacity, just citing my price comparison research.
Edit: I've heard Xoticpc mentioned several times, thus I should mention that in my "research" they came in 2nd best price to RK -
For lower end specs RK computers will have one of the best price. When you do a x9100 or qx9300 KN is less I believe. However you cant go wrong with either one.

thanks for all the input thus far. As far as price all of the sellers are around the same price when yogo high end. Any how I know the specs I want I just don't know which seller would be able to help e trouble shoot software issues. I mean I buying a gaming laptop so I want my investment to perform.
As far as customer service all are good but I'm looking for customer support. I see a lot of trouble shooting by KN on GoG, a little on RK forums, and absolutely nothing from Xotic. -
RK computers has awesome customer service from what I have heard.
I can speak first hand only of KN and Mark is awesome and goes above and beyond in every aspect. -
I suggest contacting them and asking them what kind of software support they offer(almost all seller of OCZ and Sager/Clevo notebooks excel in customer service). Also, take a look at the companies customer satisfaction rating at resellerrating.com(direct links to RR and BBB ratings along with general info about the seller can be found in the sticky in the Sager/Clevo section of the forum).

RK Computers sends you back email responses within 30-60 minutes everytime. Even on the weekend, even at like 1am on a Sunday.
They will answer all of your little questions. -
Yes they do!
They sent me email's without even asking with links/login info for new VGA drivers and bios updates and i never even asked!
And the new bios and drivers made a HUGE difference in my gaming. -
RJtech is a good one too.
In the "best price" don't forget to include the taxes+shipping costs -
RKComputer is the best price for every segment. I test configure qx9300 and max setting from RK and the price is nearly 3100 (without blueray) but K|N with this setup go to 3300+(without blueray). You should do it yourself and you'll know where is the best (so I suggest RK that have lowest price and best support like other said)

I got my OCZ whitebook from RCK.
I've bought several systems over the years from Dell and Alienware, and all I can tell you is that I am very satisfied dealing with RCK.
No issues with my order, got it to me very quickly.
Very fast to respond to questions and concerns, and sent me notification for driver upgrades available on the RKC site.
For my needs RKC is great! -
Well, since we're all vouching from where we bought ours from, I'll do the same.
Though it took a bit of time to get it, I got my Criterion in great condition and very fast building and testing time. Shane of Darksmiley updated me almost daily on my build with pictures and benchmarks (3dmark06, vantage). Even up to this day Shane is in contact with me with additional help or updates available for the notebook. Since I bought mine from DS, they have lowered prices a bit, so you should also consider them along with the other vendors/resellers.
