    Hi,

I have a Nexus A15 with the standard Zepto Wireless card. But I'm experiencing that this card is a bit problematic in unix systems. And also a bit demanding on signals. So I was thinking of getting a new intel card.

But I don't really know what kind of card is best with signals. A friend of me has a Mac Book Pro, and the wlan card in that computer is awesome, think thats a broadcom card.

So if anyone has some tips for me, i would be very greatfull :)

Intel 5100/5300 cards would be a good choice.

I use the 5300 card with ArchLinux, and it just works great. However I still haven't tested 802.11n, since I don't have access to any AP/Router using 802.11n.

Before, I used the 4965 AGN, which also worked great. That is an older card, but I thought I would at least let you know it works.

Also, note that I've used GNU/Linux - tested on ArchLinux and Ubuntu - and not any "true" unixes.

    Yeah the new ones are:
    Intel 5150, 5350 and Intel 6200, 6250 and 6300.
Don't know how well the Intel 6xxx series is supported under Linux though.

I think the price seems fair.
When you compare with the Norweigan price, you shouldn't forget the taxes, which may be added on arrival.

    Great!

    Thanks for all the tips.
I'll be looking at ebay for a Intel 5300 or a 5350 card.

Can i buy any Intel 5300 Card. I found a lot of them saying it's for Dell, Lenovo or HP. And i find some that says nothing about that. And would an half size card work?

Who knows how to install this card? How I should insert the cables?
Need some photos of the installation!

I don't know where the slot is (it is usually either under a cover on the bottom or under the keyboard), but the wires should be connected as shown on the attached photo.

If the cables were two instead of three, how should I put the cables?
    Thx :)
