    Ok guys, I hope this is an appropriate thread. I just wanted to get some support, tips laptop love from those who have braved the Philips/Twinhead sham and actually bought the sort of latest offering: X59. Seen lots of posts about other models, like the X54, X56 and even newer models X61 and X66, but not much from people who have bought the X59. So I 'm hoping this thread will take off... c'mon! There must be more than just me who's parted with their £600 to buy a non-Philips but branded Philips laptop... anyone????

    I believe I'm not alone... come join me and support my cause for the X59 :)

    There is some discussion of this model here and here.

    But I'm moving this thread to the other manufacturer's forum since you seem to have passed the buying decision making stage.

    Hiya, not sure about it yet, it hasn't arrived, I only know of one other person who has it and she says it's really good. But I've heard alot of mixed views about the other versions on a couple of forums. The real issue is the lack of info on any website i.e. nothing about it on Philips or Twinhead site. Twinhead do make the X59 but they have their own names for them (based in Australia). The only real info I have found about them, and this was only yesterday, was on the Techguys website (Dixons, Currys and PCWorld tech support). Check it out: http://support.thetechguys.com/layout.aspx?ID={332f0901-e701-4cda-bcb0-11d06ce35c3b}&CatID={16e3e8a0-22bc-407b-b588-b6a29f3e7303}

    So are you going to buy one?

    The techguys website looks like a useful resource. However, I came across this in the X59 specs.
    But it is a widescreen notebook! In mitigation, some of the bigger names also make these mistakes.

    I was trying to work out which of the Twinhead models here is the X59, but I'm not sure. CPU-Z will probably identify the mainboard number.

    It is widescreen so I would expect the display to be 1280 x 800, although a few are 1280 x 768.
