Why I'm doing business with XoticPC..

EDIT: Obviously, there are some harsh feelings by KN towards XoticPC, and I wasn't aware of that. I apologize for anyone who takes offense to the following..but this is coming from someone who had an unbiased opinion until my experiences below..and justified by the comments and remarks of the KN supporters who decided to attack me after the fact. Please, read on..and make sure you read the comments in the screen shots AND links..otherwise, you won't get the whole, unbiased picture.

Well, I decided that it was time to invest in a new gaming/benchmark rig. The OCZ Whitebook, A.K.A. Flextronics/Arima Force Extreme 840 is my next notebook of choice. Lots of aliases, eh? Rebranders can be creative

I spent some time debating on whether or not it would be a wise move.. if the cost vs. value factor was there.. And really, I love my 7811FX. But, I am just ready for something different. Well, after browsing several different vendors I decided to go with XoticPC . They have a bullet proof reputation, and unsurpassed customer service. I did take a look at RKC Notebooks who also is very reputeable... and also at KillerNotebooks who has a reputation for high performance..

Before I made my decision, I decided to do some research regarding performance of the notebook itself. Turns out, KillerNotebooks is the only source for overclocking and benchmarking results right now. And I'm sure you all know how I feel about those! Well, it seems their setup performed extremely well.. breaking the 14k barrier, actually reaching 14.6k with an overclocked x9100!( 15.1k in "lab conditions") I should be getting excited right here, yes? No.. I then saw a benchmark of a single hd3870 coming in the low 9ks.. and was mentally comparing to the 7811FX. So, I decided I'd challenge the beast, and offer my stock clocks, x9100 without OC hitting 9600 to see if they had any response.. Mind you, this is a forum I'm posting on..and just like here at the NBR home, everyone is welcome. I was immediately lambasted. The lambasting was removed..all 9 pages of it. Johnksss, another reputable long-time member of these parts, was taking a lot of heat as well..for something he didnt even say. johnksss is a good friend, and stood up for myself, the gateway, and NBR.. Well, I'm all about some good ribbing..ya know? And until I realized that KillerNotebooks himself, who is evidentally pretty high up in this company, decided to degrade 2 potential customers. Here's the screen shots of his comments:

Now, there was never any harsh words towards him or his company.. and at this point, I am getting frustrated, because its not a fair way to treat potential customers. Obviously, I'm not planning to spend money with someone of this demeanor.. So I let him know that:

Well, wouldn't ya know..it's ok to attack potential customers. One's who are just defending themselves against your groupies, and then defending from you YOURSELF.. but when one speaks up in a professional manor, you slam a fist down and ban them from returning..that way you don't have to explain why it is that you're a not providing customer service that is up to par.. but instead, you're providing semi-fast machines, while the company obviously lacks in true customer service.
This hurt my feelings..


The long story short, I don't feel this is proper conduct if you consider yourself reputable as a business. And even as a person, there is no reason to treat strangers this way..

I'd like to thank XoticPC for providing excellent customer assistance to this point..and I even got a message this afternoon from Justin to let me know that everything is being processed, and expedited. RKC, I'm sure your service is equal, and maybe next time we can enjoy the pleasure of doing business. Personally, I do not recommend KillerNotebooks based on my experiences thus far.

Oh, and on a side note..since I obviously intimidated them with my 7811FX scores.. just wait till XoticPC's Whitebook is in my hands!

 

I'm not sure the point of this thread, was it to praise xoticpc, or flame killernotebooks? I'm guessing the latter.

 

It was a comparison of the 2, I didnt deal with RKC, so I couldnt provide any feedback.. Visit the threads at xotic, nothing like that going on..and there are some people who do need a firm slap upside the head.

 

E-Wrecked, I am sorry to hear that you have had such a poor and insulting experience with KillerNotebooks, I do not blame you in any way for defending yourself and showing the facts, after all, beating someone with the truth is the beating that hurts the most, it is just pathetic how Mark (AKA, "Master of Sockpuppets") and his Kool-Aid minions rose up against you, just like you stated in the GuruofGaming forums, the most important rule to maintain a business is:

"Customer comes first."

I believe that Mark thinks he can say whatever he pleases because it is his forum (this "I can say whatever I please because it is my forum" phrase is like in every thread in his forums), but, he forgets about the customers and potential customers as well, --removed due to it being unrelevant--, he is only doing negative propaganda to his business.

Enough said, I support you on this, and it is nice to hear that you are happy with your purchase from Xotic PC, I had a great buying experience with them, they were kind, they were fast at answering, and really helpful.

Edit: I am sorry for all of the ranting included in this post, but as a potential KillerNotebooks customer that I once was, I guess that sharing information about a certain shop is the only way of alerting people of a possible unpleasant experience.

 

How was that a comparison? The entire post was negative remarks about killernotebooks. From what I learned about comparisons, you offer pros and cons of both sides, each sides strengths and weaknesses.

Thats not a comparison, it's just a put down.

 

There was a site blast message 15 minutes ago that said you two were banned for flaming and multiple member complaints. The I'm innocent I tell ya speech after the 5 pages of rhetoric that forum members complained about would only fly here.

On the other hand, you seem to be well versed in attacking people you don't know.

It appears you were banned for just cause and you don't like it because you still want to fight about it here and post your negativity. It seems a very familiar theme and it certainly means allot to you to bash Killer Notebooks.

The fact that you have taken the time to take and post screen shots, you yourself admit you were tag-team accounts with your friend from NBR. It just so happens other Xotic supporters who bash Killer Notebooks on his forum are up and checking the OCZ forum at 3:30 a.m. (but doesn't she supposedly has a Clevo system?) on a Friday night, to quickly back you up.

Very transparent, very bait-and-switch. Again, who cares where you get the computer you are buying to PLAY GAMES ON from? Gosh, it is like life or death to some people. Is this all you have to worry about?

As you said Mark tweaks and Xotic and RKC don’t. So you pay a premium for the OC, cool. So you get 5-10% boost for more performance. Some people are into that. Like yourself which going from the Gateway to the Whitebook.

Well, now you have your XoticPC and you can move on like you should have done when you were "researching" and "just sticking up for your friend against groupies" and were banned there.

Your comments are full of conjecture and rife with inaccuracies. You say you are not bashing or flaming but that statement right there "groupies" and the other ones you say are "misquoted" are antagonistic. You were banned there, you are long time members here in good standing, move on.

I check the NotebookReview forums really periodically (in a hourly-basis) and I read any thread that gets my interest on it, and if I consider I should post in that thread, I just do it, I remember how you were saying that there was another "Witch Hunt" going on in NBR in another thread, concerning KillerNotebooks, guess what?, you are doing the same thing you were once complaining about, is not it ironic?, don't you think?

Then again, if that was not directed towards me, I am truly sorry.

I enjoy NotebookReview's forums because it has been a learning experience to me, I plan to be a Computer Systems Engineer when older, and I know 400% more than I did, let's say, 1 year ago, just from reading and answering on NotebookReview.

That isn't a bad choice, I'm in school right now for IT, emphasizing in forensics. You figure in 20 years, everything well get done by computers, heck already I order my pizzas online. haha

 

Typically, it is a very peaceful place to find feedback on products..reviews on vendors.. and answer any questions relating to problems that you may have. *ahem* There's several problems floating around right now.

Yeah, this is the place where I first heard about that there were better companies that sold notebooks other than the local shops that sold overpriced, and obsolete laptops with no warranty left on them at all. (Although my Gateway MX3631m has pretty much fallen down to pieces, Gateway Mexico even sent a local Engineer to replace the keyboard of the laptop when 2 of the keys' hooks broke.).

Cool, I want to emphasize on Security, and the works and creation of Operating Systems, someday I will write my own Linux Distribution from scratch!

Yeah, computers will rule over the world, this reminds me of an article I read at an Anti-Microsoft site, where even the pockets of your favorite jeans would have microchips to organize the things you put in them, with the help of "Internet Explorer" and "ActiveX", hehe, and would give you an occasional lethal discharge too! Haha.

That is true, all of the OS's have Pro's and Con's, and they shine on different fields, also, it is not for sure if another OS would become dominant or what else, good point, steven, I will learn from all of the OS's.

Hehe, the laptop thinks it is Fernando De Magallanes and plans to do at least 1 full way around the globe! Hahaha.

My laptop is repaired, got a brand-new screen, and it is getting back home next week.

Side note; editted OP.. just so everyone understands.

 

Same ol' faithful 8800m GTX's set I purchased with the laptop, a dissasembly made the laptop boot up again (why did not I think of looking for any loose cables or something?) and it got 13,666 3DMarks on 3DMark06 on the testing that Sager did on it.

Its recently-bought beauty has been restored to it, Power Button is not sunk anymore, screen was replaced with a new and beautiful one, no downclocking problems.

I am quite happy, especially when I have gone through a lot of things to get the laptop.

 

Aeris, congrats on getting that back! I know ya had some issues..good to know they're resolved. Now ya gotta get john to teach ya how to OC and burn one out again
