My wifi gets disconnected often. I have the Qualcomm Atheros wifi card. Wifi is fine with my other computers, but on this one, it gets disconnected regularly.

    Anyone else has this issue?

Never mind, I fixed the issue by using the Win 7 driver on Win 8.

I have a CT15-A5 and I'm getting the same exact issues on Win 8 even after a total system re-install and then updating the Qualcomm Drivers to the Win 8 ones.

Are you saying that it worked when you downgraded back to the Win 7 drivers? If that's so I plan on doing that to solve this issue. I haven't even been able to use the computer at all because it can't stay connected to a network for more than 5 seconds.

i posted this in another thread, but here it is again :)

talked to support, this is the fix, my internet no longer drops on windows 8
u have to uninstall the driver 3 times lol sounds weird but it works

Jacob: First you'll need to download the Win8 Wireless driver from the VIZIO Website. Then follow these steps:
    1. In desktop press WINKEY + X and press Device manager on the context menu on the bottom left.
    2. When Device Manager opens open the Network Adapters list and Right Click “Qualcomm Atheros” and Uninstall.
    3. A window should appear to confirm Device Uninstall, Check “Delete the driver software for this device”, Press OK.
    4. Reboot the PC
    5. Run the WLAN installer and check remove to uninstall the software windows could not delete.
    6. Reboot the PC
    7. Run the WLAN installer and to install, it will ask to launch the installer, keep it checked and run the installer.
    8. In the installer it will come with “Previous Installation detected”, Check Uninstall and press OK to remove, Press OK to remove profiles. Press Finish
    9. Reboot the PC
    10. Run the WLAN installer and check remove to uninstall the software once more.
    11. Reboot the PC
    12. Run the WLAN installer and complete the installer now. (It should install straight forward now). Finish. Wi-Fi should work without rebooting now.
    13. Double check to see if “Metered Network” Is turned off in PC Settings > Devices.
    14. Test the wireless now.
Jacob: Follow these steps as this will completely uninstall the wifi driver and reinstall them.

So I did do this a few times but it didn't work for me.

I ended up getting some drivers from another website, 10.0.0.75 versions. I didn't install it using the installer. The file I found was a .zip file with .inf drivers in it. So I installed it through windows and manually found the drivers and installed it. Now it works fine.

I don't plan on updating the drivers yet. When they release a newer one I might since Vizio wouldn't admit the problem but said a new driver was coming out soon.

The 10.0.0.75 driver worked for me as well. Thanks for the heads up, wifi works perfect now.
