    Hi
Since i have installed windows 7 on my ifl 90, the battery is exhausted after 20 minutes. Windows XP was running like 2hours.

Does anybody know how this can happen or what i can do?

There is a difference relating to the energy profile you choose, but I'm sure you know that. In any case there can not be such a huge difference between the operation systems. You installed the correct drivers for chipset, GPU, etc., right? But still, a difference of 100 minutes is too much. Are you sure your battery did not suffer some kind of damage? When did your battery used to run 2 hours with Windows XP? 1-2 years ago or more recently?

Batteries weaken over time. If you've not used your battery recently and are just now noticing, it may not be related to Win 7. Another possibility is drivers as pointed out. If your hardware isn't supported on Win 7, or your driver set incorrect, you can end up burning a lot more power than normal. Also check your power settings; you may be running full tilt on battery power. If the screen isn't dimming etc, your batteries will power out fast.

Did you install all of the drivers? You need not only Intel's chipset drivers, but also Compal's Smart Battery (which Windows 7 appears to treat as a driver). If you did, then I'm not sure what happened -- my the battery of my JFL92 completely ignored the transition from Vista to Win 7 (the battery life was and is around 3.5 hours either way).

well, mine's gone down to about one hour after I switched to 7 from Vista. Have to say, I've been using the battery quite heavily over th year, so it is worn out. Gotta think about doing a repack

    Thanks for your replies.
yes i do have the right power settings. it is always on balanced.
i think there are some problems with the drivers as althernai said. i didn't installed the smart battery driver. what is the actual driver version?

yes a battery looses the capacity over time, but i think it won't happen over night :) .
could someone post all recommend drivers by intel please?, i'm not sure which ones i have to use.
