Basically, I've been searching far and wide for some Windows seven drivers for this laptop. The place that I bought it form (Xoticpc) has turned up no answers, but recommended I look here, so I'll just ask plain and simple:

Where can I get Windows 7 drivers for my Compal JHL90?

What are you missing? It should practically work out of the box (the JFL90 does and that's an older model). There is a thread here for the FL90 drivers, most are probably similar.

I can't find any drivers for this certain compy. The only ones that turn up are the XP and Vista drivers.

You haven't tried installing Seven yet, right? The reason you can't find any drivers is that 95% of them are installed for you when install and fully update the OS. The obvious exception is the video card which Windows tends to install a rather old driver for (you can get the latest straight from Nvidia). There might be something less obvious (like the webcam or wireless switch), but you're better off googling for that device directly.

No, I guess I'm still stuck on the whole look for them beforehand rather than have an OS that does it for you.

My friend says that I could do that, but he also complains that I might lose a few minor features and or that my graphics card might not work, though I take that with a grain of salt because he's a perfectionist and I'm just sort of live and let live with this sort of thing.

You might lose a few minor features. For example, I've never found a way to make the Wow Video/Audio buttons work in Windows 7 on my JFL92 (it's probably possible, but not worth the effort). Don't worry about the video card though -- no matter which OS you have, you should install the drivers provided by Nvidia.

    go here for the drivers.

    click download site
    click bios
    click jhl90
    JHxxx Win7 Driver folder

this seems to be somewhat of a collection of win7 drivers for JHL90 (or for any JHxxx for that matter...). Kinda works. I'm not sure why it's not in the drivers folder rather than the bios folder, but it's in the Compal drivers/bios download site, so I don't have much reason to distrust it. Try it out.

They seem to be fine for Windows 7, but they're 32 bit and I'm running 64 bit.
